Teenage tradie dies after fall at construction site on first year of job

A teenage tradie has died after falling from a construction site on Tuesday.
Tyler Whitton, 17, suffered a serious head injury after falling from a construction site at Victoria Street in West End, Brisbane.
His life support was turned off on Wednesday morning at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. His grandfather confirmed his passing in a Facebook post on Thursday morning.
It was Whitton's first year on the job, it is understood.

"It is with a heavy heart and heartfelt sadness, that today I say goodbye to my beloved beautiful grandson Tyler," Jack Whitton wrote.
The exact distance he fell is unknown. Paramedics said he fell 2.5 metres while his family claimed it was 4 metres.
He was taken to hospital following the incident and was placed into an induced coma.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland have launched an investigation following the incident on Tuesday and have issued a non-disturbance notice to secure the scene.
