Burst pipe cuts off Adelaide residents' water supply

A burst pipe has left a number of residents in Adelaide without water supply and caused the closure of a school.
The water main leak occurred on Londsdale Road in Hallet Cove this morning, causing disruptions to nearby residents and businesses in the city's south.
Affected areas include, Hallett Cove, Sheidow Park, Trott Park as well as some surrounding suburbs.
Emergency water trucks were immediately called to the local shopping centre, while a school and nearby preschool alerted parents they were shut for the day.

Community support teams have made cask water available at two collection points and arranged tankers for aged care homes in the area.
SA Water will be providing updates on an estimated time frame for water restoration.
Disruptions were still reported as of 3.00pm (ACDT).
"Some customers in Hallett Cove and surrounding areas may be experiencing a temporary disruption to their tap water, while our crews carry out urgent water main repairs," SA Water said.
"An alternate supply of cask water is available for collection at the Lions Club of Hallett Cove and Districts on Quailo Avenue and The Cove Sports and Community Club on Oval Road."
Traffic management is in place on Lonsdale Road leaving one southbound lane open while water main repairs are underway.
The northbound lane remains unaffected but motorists are urged to drive safely through the area.
