New 'accident' claim behind UK girl Sara Sharif's sudden death

Sara Sharif's father claimed the 10-year-old died in an "accident", her grandfather said, as he tried to explain why the family had fled the UK and gone into hiding in Pakistan.
Muhammad Sharif confirmed his son Urfan Sharif had briefly visited with him at his home in Pakistan after Urfan had hurriedly booked flights and jetted out of London.
After touching down in Pakistan, Urfan called police in the UK to tell them the body of his daughter Sara was in the family's home in Woking, south London.

"It was an accident, he didn't tell me how it happened," Muhammad told the BBC.
When asked why Urfan wouldn't just hand himself in to police if it was an accidental death, Muhammad said: "Because of fear."
Muhammad said his son's decision-making was wrong and he urged Urfan to hand himself in, go back to the UK and "face their case".
"His daughter died and when you go under so much trauma, obviously you can't think properly," Muhammad said.
"All I can say is that they should have faced the case. They should have stayed there and faced it instead (of coming to Pakistan)."
Muhammad insisted "they will ultimately go back to the UK and face their case".
He confirmed Urfan had visited him in Jhelum, the city close to Islamabad where he was raised and where many of his family still live, but had since left.

A manhunt in Pakistan has searched, unsuccessfully, for Urfan over the past weeks.
Also travelling with Urfan, and wanted by police, are his partner Beinash Batool, brother Faisal Malik, and his five children, aged between one and 13.
After Urfan made his call to the UK police on August 10, officers rushed to the Woking address and found Sara alone and dead, and that she had suffered extensive injuries.
A post-mortem examination found Sara's injuries had occurred over a sustained period.
"Wherever they are, they will be able to listen to this. I say they should come out, defend their case, whatever it is," Muhammad said.
"They should answer the questions. I don't say they should stay in hiding."

Out of the blue, Urfan had snapped up eight one-way plane tickets to Islamabad the night before they flew out from London Heathrow on August 9.
In the aftermath of Sara's body being discovered, police have confirmed they had previous interactions with the family in relation to Sara but would not say why.
The mother of one of Sara's school friends said she appeared injured at school one day, and that not long after she had been removed and put into homeschooling.
There is no formal extradition treaty between the UK and Pakistan.
