Gunpoint robbery sees streets locked down on Gold Coast

A man has been charged with seven offences following a two-hour police pursuit across the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
Police say the 26-year-old held a Southport resident at gunpoint inside an Orana Street home, demanding the keys to his Ford Raptor.
The driver then allegedly fled 20 kilometres south to Elanora, before leaving the vehicle in the car park of Elanora State School.

Police claim the man then held a motorcyclist at gunpoint, stealing his bike, before police rammed the motorbike with an unmarked car.
The 26-year-old allegedly fled to an underground car park at the Pines Shopping Centre, where police say he fired a shot.
He allegedly fled to the backyard of a private address on Araucaria Way where he was arrested with the help of the dog squad.
The man has been charged with seven offences but remains in hospital with dog bites. (Nine)
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital suffering several dog bites.
Police seized two firearms and charged the man with seven offences including armed robbery, possession of a shortened firearm and dangerous conduct with a weapon.
His case was adjourned in Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
